MWC team awarded funding for COVID-19 research

MWC researchers at the University of Auckland have been awarded Auckland Medical Research Foundation (AMRF) funding to investigate whether certain types of patent could be used for COVID-19 antiviral drug development.
The AMRF has awarded Distinguished Professor Dame Margaret Brimble from the School of Chemical Sciences at the University of Auckland and Dr Alan Cameron, School of Biological Sciences, $96,457 for research into the applicability of existing patents for chemical manufacturing technology for use in developing a COVID-19 antiviral drug.
