Professor Anne La Flamme

Prof La Flamme was appointed to the Board in 2024 and is a Professor in the School of Biological Sciences at Te Herenga Waka-Victoria University of Wellington where she leads the Multiple Sclerosis Research Programme. She received her BSc (Life Sciences) from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), MSc and PhD (Immunoparasitology) from the University of Washington, Seattle and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Cornell University studying how parasitic diseases alter the immune response to protect the host. Her current research focuses on translational research in multiple sclerosis and in particular, identification of immune targets to enhance recovery. She has served in a number of international and national roles including Editor-in-Chief of Immunology & Cell Biology and is a Founding Scientist for Rekover Therapeutics.
