Miss Melenaite Tohi
Melenaite is a final year PhD candidate at the University of Auckland – Liggins Institute. She is currently supervised by Professor Mark Vickers and Dr Siobhan Tu‘akoi. Her current research focuses on the health and well-being of adolescents (aged 16-19 years old) in NZ. By exploring a baseline level of adolescents' understanding of the DOHaD theory, focused in particular on Pacific adolescents, and how early life environments can influence long term health. This new knowledge will offer significant information that can be used in the development of potential education and public health promotions around this concept and contribute to optimising the health and wellbeing of Pacific peoples.
